Science, Technology, and Innovation Governance (STIG) Education Program STIG is a University of Tokyo program that harnesses specialized graduate school level education in the humanities and the sciences. STIG fosters human resources who can lead science and technology governance with knowledge of the science, technology, and innovation (STI) policy-making process in each field and knowledge of the evidence building methods required to draft and implement STI policy. Specifically, the program will advance both education and research activities primarily aimed at fostering policy-making specialists (specialists at national government and research institutions who are experts in policy-making processes and evidence building in the broad field of STI) and, STI researchers (researchers who study STI policy). The program will also train research and development management specialists (specialists who manage STI programs at research and development institutions and private corporations).
